Biography

Susan MacFarland-Helton, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.   Susan earned the AIF® Designation in 2014. Attainment of the AIF Designation demonstrates understanding of the Prudent Practices® and methodology. 

Providing financial guidance since 1997, Susan is licensed to sell variable annuities, life, disability and health insurance in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Maine, Florida and South Carolina.  She is FINRA Series 7 licensed to sell securities and FINRA Series 66 licensed as an investment advisor representative.

Born and raised in Downeast Maine, Susan moved to the U.S. Virgin Islands in 1986. A graduate of the University of Maine, Susan earned a Bachelor’s  Degree in Business Administration.

Susan is married to Glenn Helton.  They have one son, Taber, who attends Maine Maritime Academy in Castine. The Heltons divide their time between coastal Maine and the USVI.  They love life in both locations and appreciate the many benefits from living in two of the most beautiful places on the planet.  Susan serves on the Board of Trustees of Washington Academy in East Machias, Maine.  She is a former member and past president of the Rotary Club of St. Thomas Sunrise.  Susan was the organizer and race director of the Rotary Sunrise Kids Triathlon.
